At first, it may feel like a dream come true. Lavish presents, constant attention, and intense declarations of love can sweep you off your feet. But if it feels overwhelming or too good to be true, it might be something far more sinister: love bombing.

This term might be familiar to some of you but for those who it is not, love bombing is a form of emotional manipulation where one person overwhelms another with excessive affection and attention to gain control over them. Most common in romantic relationships, but it can also occur in friendships or even within families.

While love bombing may feel flattering at first, it is often a deliberate tactic designed to erode boundaries, increase dependence and isolate the recipient from their support network.
