I keep losing the objects that help me.
My AirPods. My glasses. My keys.
They’re the things that support my everyday functioning—my connection to the world, my ability to see and hear clearly, to leave the house on time. And yet I regularly misplace them.
It’s always the same story: I put them down in a rush, distracted, thinking of the next thing or the last. Later, when I need them, they’re gone. And I drive myself mad trying to retrace my steps—shifting cushions, opening drawers, playing mental detective. I mutter to myself, “Where did I last have them?” and that familiar thrum of frustration begins.
Eventually, after wasting far too much time, I do find them. But not without a good deal of inner chaos.
