Could You Go 20 Minutes Without Your Phone?
Lately, I’ve noticed how attached I’ve been to my phone. It’s always in my hand, always within reach and I can feel how the endless scrolling keeps me tight, distracted, and a little closed off.
So I’ve been trying a small but powerful practice: putting my phone in a drawer (or in another room) for just 20 minutes at a time.
What’s been surprising is what opens up in that space. Instead of reaching for my phone, I find myself reaching for new thoughts, a sense of connection, and a gentle ease in my whole system. It’s almost like I can breathe more deeply again.
Starting small has been key. Just 20 minutes. And what’s beautiful is that once I began to feel the benefits, I no longer had to force myself to do it. Now, I’m actually choosing to.
Maybe this is something you’d like to try, too. Put it away for 20 minutes today and notice how you feel. It could be the beginning of a new habit that feels really nourishing.
